The choreography by Alex Baczyński-Jenkins starts with Lamentations from Henry Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas (1689). In this piece Purcell used the duriusculus – a baroque compositional tool also known as lament bass. This melodic fragment becomes the point of departure for the fractal structure of the choreography, which tries to be a witness to the processes of de-regulation. The titular poor resolution blurs the contours of the agent and at the same time reiterates its materiality.
