Instalakcje 5. Interdisciplinary Music Festival

Curators: Wojtek Blecharz, Paweł Mykietyn

The festival presents unconventional musical genres that are rarely heard at traditional festivals of contemporary music in Poland. The formula includes sound and audiovisual installations, sound sculptures, instrumental theatre, performances, and interdisciplinary and multimedia forms of music. The interdisciplinary profile of the Instalakcje festival is radically different from the traditional classical music festivals with concerts that are mainly intended for connoisseurs and lovers of contemporary music. Instalakcje is closer to what is happening in many galleries and museums of contemporary art in the world, i.e. opening to the viewer, interactivity, active participation in the reception of art, giving a chance to touch and directly experience music. As part of the fifth edition of Instalakcje, we will present, among others, an especially commissioned composition by Barbara Kinga Majewska, Karol Radziszewski and Adam Walicki.

The special guest of the festival is the installation is STIFTERS DINGE by Heiner Goebbels, invited on occasion of the Polish-German anniversary year 2016 ŚWIĘTUJEMY!, organized by the Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborship and Friendly Cooperation.

Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
